Local Bookstore (non-corporate) wins over Amazon.
Firefox beats IE and Netscape
Google beats Microsoft (even though that's totally hypocritical of me to say, and probably an inarguable stance.)

People who stand directly in front of the elevator without giving room for the people inside to get off first drive me crazy. I am not a violent person, but it makes me want to slap someone.

And, taking it one step further, have you ever had someone actually enter the elevator BEFORE people have had the chance to get off. Yeah, that is the ultimate.

Hey guys,

I'm totally fine with exceptions, since in this country we love to give them. I'm not saying ban the carry-on luggage that fits under your seat, just the overhead baggage. The purse or bag that fits under the seat doesn't slow down the boarding process and is needed for any medical or other supplies.

The airlines don't make money on the checked bags because people carry them on and only check the limited amounts you can. If you had to pay to carry-on the overhead bags, I really think it would generate some serious cash.

I think this is a great idea, but like Adam said has some issues (I'm also thinking of parents with kids who need food/toys).

Also, I read somewhere that airlines don't really make a ton of money off charging for checked bags or soda, but instead they save money by reducing the amount of luggage and soft drinks they have on the plane. Thus, making it lighter and saving money on gas. Not sure if that's true or not, but its a thought.
