crowdSPRING is pretty cool…
June 7, 2008crowdSPRING is a pretty cool new tool. Here are the 3 easy steps:
1. Post a creative project
2. Watch the world participate
3. Choose the one you like
I think this is a great idea instead of having to post on craigslist to find a freelancer for jobs. If there can be an online community ready to work upon a project posted the quality of work will be higher and they will command a price that is better than random postings. I have concerns as to how it all works and why I wouldn’t just redesign artwork I saw for myself without paying. All in all it is a pretty cool idea, let’s keep it on the radar to see what happens.
Thanks for the kind words, Brett. We’ve run many projects, between $100 and $5000. Creatives own their work at all times until a buyer selects it and pays for it. Our creatives come from over 100 countries.
And to answer your concern – simply taking something without paying is theft – a crime in every country in the world. Plus, we require buyers to escrow funds with us before projects are started. We offer buyers and creatives free legal contracts, full end to end project management, take care of paying creatives in every country, and other tools.
Here’s the big difference between us and craigslist, guru, elance: choice. On those sites, you get proposals and bids for future work. On crowdSPRING – you get actual designs. In a recent project, 198 versions of YOUR logo, rather than looking through portfolios of other people’s logos.
So, thanks again.
Best,
Ross
